Aliwan Fiesta 2013

The “Festival of the Champions” once again surprised the spectators in Manila as champions of different festivals all over the Luzon, Visayas and Mindano gather in just one extravagant event, the Aliwan Fiesta 2013. This year, 17 contingents proudly showcased their colorful costumes, most rehearsed dynamic dance performance and musical score inspired by their vibrant culture and unique tradition.

Every year, the activities of the event are Pasakalye, Reyna ng Aliwan, Float Competition and the Street Dance Competition. The street dance competition is the most awaited activity of all, held on the last day (Saturday) of the 3-day event.

The contingents assembled in the Quirino Grandstand where they performed their first dynamic performance, subsequently parade of the contingents and float held along the Roxas Boulevard and went straight to Aliw Theater, CCP Complex for their biggest and final performance.

Third Runner - up: Padang-Padang Festival – Parang, Maguindanao ( P  150,000 )
Fourth Runner - up: Adivay Festival – Benguet ( P 100,000 )

Aliwan Fiesta is definitely the grandest event in the country where variety of beautiful culture and tradition place in to one and I thought the biggest winner were the people who witnessed how rich our country’s heritage is.
